CNC Machinist - 1st Shift


Responsibilities:
  • Operates conventional, special purpose, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to machine metallic and nonmetallic parts applying knowledge of machine shop theory, procedures, and shop mathematics.
Requirements:
  • Read and comprehend drawings, work instructions, and any special specifications to effectively and safely machine parts.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
  • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Must be a team player
Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of machining experience, set-up experience preferred.
  • Ability to read prints.

Experienced Manual Machinist


Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate manual, special purpose, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines applying knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, machine shop theory, and shop mathematics.
  • Solve problems relative to materials, tools, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, product specifications, and machining methods.
Requirements:
  • Ability to analyze written specifications, drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions to plan, layout, and determine the sequence of operations.
  • Read and comprehend complex engineering drawings, work instructions, and any special specifications to effectively and safely set-up and machine parts.
  • Set up and operate metalworking machines such as an engine lathe, knee-mill, surface grinder, boring mill, CNC, or VTL to machine parts to specifications and verify conformance of parts to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Must be a team player.
Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manual machining experience which includes set-up.
  • Ability to read prints.

Assembler


Responsibilities:
  • Assembles products to engineering drawings following written procedures or by applying knowledge of proper assembly techniques. Perform functional tests per testing procedure or under the direction of an engineer or experienced assembler.
Requirements:
  • Must be knowledgeable regarding shop and equipment safety.
  • Read and comprehend drawings, bills of material, work instructions, and any special specifications to effectively and safely assemble and test parts.
  • Pull parts per Bill of Material (BOM) in quantities required for production.
  • Fits and assembles parts into sub-assemblies using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Verifies assemblies are complete per BOM and assembly drawing.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve assembly problems.
  • Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
  • Tests finished assemblies to ensure functional attributes are per specification.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on test equipment.
  • Must be a team player.
Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Vocational education and work experience are desirable.
