CNC Operator – 3rd shift

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical troubleshooting. The CNC Operator will play a vital part in ensuring manufacturing efficiency, quality standards, and safety compliance within our production facility. Prior factory or manufacturing experience is preferred, and familiarity with various industrial equipment is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of CNC machines, including CNC horizontal and vertical milling machines, CNC single- and twin-spindle lathes, and other machining equipment such as drill presses.
  • Set up tooling to specifications while ensuring proper calibration using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on CNC equipment and industrial machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct quality control checks by inspecting parts with GD&T standards and precision measurement tools to meet strict tolerances.
  • Read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documents to determine machining requirements.
  • Operate forklifts or handle materials as needed for materials handling or other tasks within the manufacturing environment.
  • Follow safety standards in production areas, including proper use of hand tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of machine setups, production runs, and inspection results for quality assurance purposes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC horizontal or vertical mills, CNC single- and twin-spindle lathes, or related equipment in a manufacturing setting required.
  • Basic to Advanced knowledge of Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and G-code a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance in manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical blueprints with proficiency. GD&T principle knowledge a plus.
  • Mechanical knowledge, including tooling setup, machine operation, and troubleshooting industrial equipment, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators for quality control purposes.
  • Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
  • Strong safety awareness aligned with industry standards in production environments.

CNC Mill Set-Up Machinist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Set-Up Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Setting up and operating CNC Horizonal and Vertical milling machines and ensuring precision in machine processes. This role requires a strong understanding of machine shop processes, mechanical blueprints, measurement tools, and CNC programming to produce high-quality metal components efficiently and accurately. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on precision manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC milling machines and related machining tools to produce complex metal parts according to specifications.
  • Set up CNC milling machines by installing fixtures, tools, and editing programs using CNC G-code.
  • Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
  • Perform machine setup, calibration, and adjustments to ensure optimal operation and precision.
  • Conduct quality inspections using measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions against blueprints.
  • Utilize GD&T principles for accurate measurement and quality control of machined components.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, perform basic maintenance, and make necessary adjustments during production runs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Document production data and inspection results for quality records.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day

Qualifications:
  • 3 years of proven experience operating CNC milling machines
  • Proficiency in CNC G-code programming, CAM programming, and Mastercam or CAD software is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint reading and interpretation of mechanical blueprints.
  • Knowledge of machining tools, manual machining techniques, and measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments.
  • Ability to interpret GD&T specifications for quality assurance purposes.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform machine setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machining processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision measurement in machine operations.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

CNC Machinist Lathe Experience -  3rd Shift

Responsibilities:
  • Operates conventional, special‑purpose, and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe machines to machine metallic and nonmetallic parts, applying knowledge of machine shop theory, procedures, and shop mathematics.
Requirements:
  • This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work with a range of sophisticated machinery.
  • Read and comprehend drawings, work instructions, and any special specifications to effectively and safely machine parts.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.

  • Must be a team player.
      Experience:
      • High school diploma or GED.
      • Minimum of 1 year of lathe machining experience, set-up, and mill experience is a plus.
      • Ability to read prints.
      • Proficient in precision gaging.
