PR Machine Works at Rock-n-Ribs 2014

July 2014

PR Machine Works is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Rock-n-Ribs festival held in July on the North Central State College campus in Mansfield. The event drew a crowd of about 10,000 and featured national and local musical talent including country artist Phil Vassar, and rockers The Tubes and Spin Doctors.

The real attraction for many, however, is the barbequed ribs. This year seven specialists served up a storm of ribs to the hungry crowd. Some of the cooks are locally-based, while others maintain a national profile. Among the celebrity judges for the best ribs contest was our own Mark Romanchuk. When asked about his judging method, Mark explained that he checks out the texture and appearance of the rib before digging in to evaluate the taste. In the end, Porky Chick’s BBQ, an Arkansas-based vendor with its 17 herbs and spices, won the celebrity rib judging contest.

All proceeds from Rock-n-Ribs benefit the North Central State College Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The NCSC Foundation provides resources for North Central State College program initiatives, facilities projects, state-of-the-art-equipment, and student aid and scholarships.
